Championing Inclusivity and Storytelling in Business: My Internship at Unilever
During my first corporate internship at Unilever, I had the privilege of working on an inspiring and unconventional campaign for Elidor, a leading shampoo brand in Turkey. This project shaped my understanding of how businesses can act as a force for social good when guided by purpose and authenticity.
"Looking back, this project remains a highlight of my professional journey and a source of immense pride. It reinforced my belief that businesses have the potential to be catalysts for positive change and inspired me to seek opportunities where I can continue to create meaningful, impactful work."
The campaign aimed to empower inclusivity by partnering with Ebrar Karakurt, a celebrated volleyball player and a proud advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. As one of Turkey’s most high-profile openly LGBTQ+ athletes, Ebrar embodies strength, resilience, and authenticity—values that aligned seamlessly with the campaign’s core message.
My Role
My role in this campaign involved a dynamic combination of strategic planning, content creation, and stakeholder coordination. From brainstorming sessions to execution, I was immersed in every aspect of the campaign’s lifecycle. One of my primary responsibilities was to assist in crafting a narrative that would resonate with Elidor’s diverse audience while staying true to the brand’s values. This required me to balance creative storytelling with the practicalities of brand marketing, ensuring that the message was impactful, genuine, and aligned with Unilever’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
